New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday ahead of the Week 4 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs also had practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta’amu test positive for COVID-19, which forced the NFL to move Sunday’s game to Monday.

On Sunday, Newton shared an update on his diagnosis on social media, taking to Instagram to thank everyone for the well wishes: NEVER WILL QUESTION GOD’s reasoning, just will always respond with, “YES LORD!!” I appreciate all the love, support and WELL WISHES!! I will take this time to get healthy and self reflect on the other AMAZING THINGS THAT I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR!!

It’s unclear how Newton contracted the virus; as of Sunday evening, the Patriots haven’t announced any additional positive cases.
