The Detroit Pistons defeated the New York Knicks 100-94 in Game 2 of their playoffs at Madison Square Garden on Monday, to tie the series at 1-1. Cade Cunningham had 33 points and 12 rebounds, with Dennis Schroder making the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 55 seconds left.

The win marked the Pistons’ first playoff victory since May 26, 2008, when they beat the Boston Celtics 94-75 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals. They had lost 15 consecutive playoff games entering Monday (with sweeps in 2009, 2016 and 2019).

Detroit will host Game 3 on Thursday night.
